Dirk Verdicchio (M.A.). Study of sociology, literature, and anthropology in Freiburg, Germany. Master's thesis in 1999: "Beißender Grenzverkehr. Vampirische Identitäten in Literatur und Film." (Bites and Boundaries. Vampires' Identities in Literature and Film). Doctoral fellow at the post-graduate school 'Technology and Society' at the University of Technology Darmstadt from April 2000 to March 2003, since then associate member. Since September 2003 research assistant at the project "The Visual Culture of the Global Finance Economy. Towards a Sociology of Economic Visuality" at the University of Bern, Switzerland. Main areas of work: cultural sociology, Science and Technology Studies, Gender Studies, research on subjectivities, film, Public Understanding of Science, identities and monsters. Verdicchio's publications include: Landschaft, Geschlecht, Artefakte. Zur Soziologie naturaler und artifizieller Alteritäten (Landscapes, Gender, Artifacts.
